I have been on this board for a while and have done a ton of research rebuilding my credit from bad history as well as identity theft.
Fast forward 3 years I can say I am on track. Navy Federal was a big help in that department.
Almost 3 years ago I open up a checking and savings account along with 2 Secured CC each being $500 and started banking full time with them. I Always paid off both CC each month or left a 3 % balance. One graduated about a year and a half later the other I closed and open a new line since it did not graduate. I now have a Cash rewards with a 20k limit and a Platinum with a 5k limit.
This year I decide it was time to buy a house. I was making way too much money and was not receiving a tax write off. (Oh almost forgot decided to buy a car and got auto loan from them last year for 60k)
Called Navy Federal did an app and was Pre-approved for 550K for a new mortgage. Took about 2 weeks to find a house. Decided to put 20% down and do an FHA loan due to the 3% interest rate and DTI.
Closed on the home last month and man let me tell you it was an easy process. I have never had such a great experience with a Bank. They really treat you like Family.
4 hours after closing I decided to apply for the Flagship Rewards to buy a few toys for the new house. Approved for 20k Just like that. Then I said what the heck let’s do a CLOC another 10K. Then I got gritty and ask for a CLI for my cash rewards. Declined. Can’t say I blamed them. I have more than enough credit with them. Either way I just wanted to tell everyone my story and say if you treat NFCU right they will take care of you. Thank you very much navy federal they been a great asset to my life in general. If you can Join please do so. They are the best Credit Union to Bank with. And I mean the absolute best.
Congrats on the turn around!

They have consistently been one of the highest rated CUs in the nation.
Much agreed and Now I see why. They are awesome. Glad that not just anyone can join. ( I know that sounds selfish) But a bank like this needs members who respect them alot.) Exspectually since they take care of us.
Sadly. not everyone who served can join.
Been in the military for 11 years almost 12 and this forum was the first place I heard about that Credit Union. I put in my application tonight.. Hoping to use them for a seperate savings account and hopefully some great credit cards in the future
