NFCU question

Do you have to me military or related to someone in the military to join NFCU?  My mom joined several years back (no longer a member) and she defintiely has no relation to anyone in the military. 

Total CL: $40k+

You must be in the military, or close relative or roommate with someone in NFCU.

There was a time when Credit Unions didn't have to enforce their "field of membership".  The banks sued and courts forced reinstatement of field of membership rules.

Here's a link to the membership requirements for NFCU:    https://www.navyfederal.org/how-to-become-a-member.php

 

They do allow some Civilian employees and DoD contractors to join.

 

Since your Mom was previously a member, it would be certainly be worth a call to see if she can rejoin.
