NOT FAIR!!! Selective Reporting!!

I pulled my credit and noticed my equifax report is higher than the others.  I am a member of SECU, best bank on earth!!  Well I have a credit card with them and a Auto Loan.  They only pulled EQ when i applied for the loans.  And they only report credit history to EQ.  Well I asked to have my CC and auto loan placed on the other two files.  I was basically told no in a nice way.

Well If I were to apply for a home loan, the bank would pull all three files, and base my rate off the mean score.  Well thats not fair, my scores vary so much because you are not reporting my info to the other two CRA.

If I dont get this resolved in a few days.  I might think about contacting a lawyer cause this is NOT FAIR!!

Don't waste your time contacting a lawyer. Reporting to the CRAs is not mandatory, it is voluntary.

The only thing the law says is if they report, they must report accurate. It doesn't mandate them to report to the CRA or that they have to report to all 3. I have some who report to only one, some who report to only two.

Most use median score not mean score for mortgages.

Speaking of SECU, I am planning on applying for a car loan and credit card with them next week. You mentioned that they pulled from Equifax, I appreciate that information! What were your scores when you got your car loan and CC, and what interest rates/credit limit/loan amount did you get? Also, if I apply for my CC now, do you know if they'll keep the score in their system so they won't have to do another hard pull when I app for the car loan later? How does their car loan system work? Sorry for all these questions, this is going to be my very first car buying experience, so I am new to this! Smiley Happy

Re: NOT FAIR!!! Selective Reporting!!

Anything over a 600 is approved.  I think they give the same rates to everybody on CC and auto loans.  The rates are posted on their website.  If you do auto payment on your car loan they will knock off like .25 or .5 percent.  If you want to miss the hard pull, i would suggest applying for both at the same time.
