Need Some Advice

I currently applied for a home loan. Found out that my credit is beyond HORRIBLE. I went through and paid a lot of my collections off. Of course they are still on my credit report but I am wondering if a goodwill letter will get them off of there? Or what else can I do to clean this up so that I can in the future own my home? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you can send a Gw letter to all of them, but some will not delete since it is allready paid. Write each letter for your own situation, and try to make them want to help you.... 

 IF they dont delete through a GW, some people have tried DV'ing a paid collection, and Im sure a few have been deleted this way. 

 Just keep trying, and make every GW letter better and better if they get denied- try addressing  it to the president/ceo... and just keep at it.   persistence is key!

I did same thing as you did  ( Paying off several collections prior to becoming more informed on do's and dont's thru information on this forum)

I sent several GW letters to CA"s some responded some did not.

I succeeded in getting 2 accts deleted after 4-5 months. ( guess they got tired of letters and calls. )

Who are your paid collections with?

If you listed them maybe you could get some positive feedback on how to proceed from other forum members.

Don't give up!!   You will be successful if you are persistent.

The collection accounts that are paid off are:

Arrow Financial

Paragon Way

Bay Area Credit

NCO Financial

These have all been paid in full. I have a few that I need to pay should I send a PFD for these? There are a couple medical bills on these do they accept PFD?

Need more info on unpaid accts.  DOFD, DOLA, are they within SOL for your state?

There are 3 total. DOLA is 10/06,06/07, and unknown. The third one on my report is unknown! It says account name unknown medical past due 498.00??? How do I contact the CA to pay this if its unknown on my CR? The other two are for Reliant Recovery and Data Central. One has a past due amount and one doesnt?  And yes they are SOL in my state I think LOL they are only max 2 years old??? I am very new to this whole credit thing so please bear with me an dthank you so much for being so much help already!

Regarding the UNKOWN acct ( If the CRA reporting this acct cannot provide you with OC or CA reporting the account I would Dispute as not accurate with CRA first. See what comes back. If you get OC or CA Information at that point then DV the OC or CA the report. Maybe it will get DEL when you Dispute.

You can DV the other two known accts, but if they are within the SOL you need to be prepared to PIF if they try to bring forth a lawsuit.You can always PIF to avoid a Judgement. I would NEVER do a PFD without proper DV from OC or CA.
