Need help with Authorize user

I currently am an authorized user on my mother's capital one account. I have been an AU for 5 years. I have a discharged BK7 from Feb 2019. I have a good rebuld going to this point, but wondering if the account is helping, or hurting me. The card is currently maxed out (18k). This seems to have more of a negative impact vs helping my AAoA. I wanted to test the theroie but when going onto Cap 1 website if I am removed as an AU, I can not be put back. Not sure what the move is... If anyone has solid advice for me I am all ears. I am in Ohio so I am trying hard to get my TransUnion score above 680 for a vehicle refinance.

Current scores are as follows: FICO 8

Equifax 678.    TransUnion 642.    Experian 654.

Maxed out card is a score killer. Especially, if above 88.9% utilization.

Seeing that you are seeking refinance, remove yourself as AU.

18k maxed out is definitely killing your score.

Re: Need help with Authorize user

You can remove yourself fom your mother's account by disputing the account with the credit bureau's directly, dispute as account not mine/authorized user please remove.  Or you can ask your mother to contact the creditor directly and have you removed from the account.  But going directly to the bureau's you dont have to converse with your mother and have an ackward conversation.  Keep in mind that it could take upto 30 days for the bureau's to get the account removed from your credit profile, but they can get it removed.

You can call capital one yourself and request for them to remove you from the account and once the statement cuts it will appear on you credit report as relationship terminated but the account will remain there and you will keep the old account

That about sums it up. If you're doing a solid rebuild. Don't let the allure of having a higher overall limit, overlook your utilization. Best of luck!
