I logged in today to see if it had been cencelled (Discover). Its still open and get this, I got a CLI from $200 to $600. lol. I tried for an additional one and it declined. Not surprised as they were supposed to close it. It also says there is a fraud hold on the account. I already cut them all up though. I sent them a message to make sure it was closed. No reply yet.

lol - it almost sounds like they took your closure request as "whoa, this guy is serious - let's see if he'll keep our card if we finally unsecure it..."

 

probably not, but...you can hope, right?

Oh it's been unsecured for a few months. I got a response from them. It is indeed closed. The credit limit increase was done posthumously. Lol!!!

Wow, not only a postmortem CLI, but a real life 3X CLI!  Maybe that'll open the doors for prequalified offers with 0% and Cash Back Match to come your way?

 

Great job continuing with your journey and congrats on those other CLIs; that must be getting you closer to 20% now right?

lol. I never realized it was 3x. I also just realized it was done at exactly 90 days from unsecuring. Good data point to note.
