Hi all,
First I want to say thanks to all....I learned so much from you guys... As you can see in my sig in less than a year I went from low 500s to 700s. How I did it?
Well, first Never giving up or taking no for an answer.... I went from multiple collections and multiple late payments on credit cards and student loans, to a complete clean report, with no late payments at all and no collections.
Also, when I said forget about the letters I meant GW letters, since they go to the lowest people on the chain of command, go for the big guys....What work best? The answer is EMAILS. I sent emails like crazy, from the president of HSBC and ACS, to the vice presidents of verizon wireless etc etc... With a little bit of patient and online searching knowledge you can find pretty much every email out there....
It was not easy the last 10 months but I never took no for an answer. If an operator tell you "no" in the phone and a letter, keep claiming the chain of command, but don't give up. I'll say the harder one for me was three late payments from HSBC cc, until I got hold of the big guy.
They know (big guys) that it wasn't easy to get hold of them, and if you succeed most likely they will help you.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my success story, and again, do not give up, it's hard but no impossible.

Were you using the dipute options that the bureaus give? I am having so many problems with getting GMAC dealt with, in Sept or Oct depending on the bureau, I have a 30 day late with them that I disagree with. I am currently disputing through the bureaus. I will get my dispute back from EQ by the 27th. So far, nothing back, so I guess in this situation at this point at least, no news is good news because if by some miracle GMAC either changes it or does not respond, it will be resolved. I am not disputing the other few lates that I've had with them over the years, just this one. I called, talked to all the bottom feeders and slowly moved up the chain to the public relations lady. She gave me the address of the big wig to send a letter to but then advised me that once they get the letter, it would be sent to her department and they would respond by saying that they would not change it. What a *****! I told her the situation that I was told by a GMAC collection person that they would give me an additional few days to get an extension payment to them, apparently the right hand did not talk to the left hand and i got screwed! I am so unhappy about this. I told her I had bought a number of cars through GMAC, 4 to be exact, and she basically told me there was nothing that they would do for me... I will hopefully get good results! Keeping my fingers crossed. With that late I lost 73 points and became ineligable for a home loan! Any advice would be very helpful and appreciated.
Congrats to you, best of luck growing that score!
Try sending and email to [edited]..... when you send a email to high executive make sure you always start your email with something like this:
Hello sir or ma'am,
First,I apologize for taking the liberty to send you an email. I’m writing indesperation concerning my ??? with GMAC, and I really don’t know who else to turn to. Let me first say that I have no complains about your services, since everyone in the customer service department is great. I understand that the help I’m seeking for is only as “good will” of your part.
Explain your situation and what you'll like them to do. Make sure you enclose your contact/account information.
If no response after a few days, just search more emails of GMAC executives online.....
Good luck....
