New Apartment!

I got approved for a new apartment!  I don't know what report they pulled, but she said it looked excellent.  It's 1300 square feet, nine foot ceilings, fireplace, two bedroom, two bath, marble tiling in kitchen, beautiful complex, too.  It's a gated community with a gym, spa, pool, hot tub, etc.  It's $855/month.  I'm going to be so broke.  That's traveling in mortgage territory, isn't it!?

Oh well....at least my mom will be moving from wisconsin to north carolina to pick up some of the slack.  There's NO teaching jobs in Wisconsin.  She'll definitely find something down here.  She just got her teaching degree.  Can't wait to have a familiar face down here.  My mom is like my big sister, it's the weirdest thing.

Re: New Apartment!

try studio apartment (450 sq-ft or so) around here... I rent out a 1 Bed/Bath (565 sq-ft) at 1450/month inc utils (and that is going up because of the util cost).. It's a prime location though.

Check util cost with the management (and double whatever they tell you)- with prices going up it could be too much and I don't want to see you get in trouble.

That is so pricey!

Oh and about the utilities...I know what I'm getting into and I'm nervous.  I'm going to be broke for the next few months until my mom's paychecks start coming in.  It's so weird I'm going to be living with her.  I've been on my own since I was sixteen and I haven't lived with her since I was 13 and ran off to be a professional student.  lol

I've got about 1300 saved for first month's rent and utilities so I'll have a couple of paychecks to build up some money for the following months for checks to come in.

I hope I find a healthy balance in living.  I've ALWAYS had roommate with existing leases that I've never been on.  My first time having something completely in my name, besides checking accounts, credit cards, loans and stuff...like real life stuff like cell phones and leases.  I'm even on my uncle's cell phone plan!  Which I'm thinking of closing.  Boo Alltel.

May I have one question ?
If you're paid on time everymonth . Will they report to CRAs ? ( like you paid your house ? )

Re: New Apartment!

I haven't used this service myself but there is an option to report rental history to CRA's:

Re: New Apartment!

Gosh, sounds like a scam.

I really want it to report though.

Wonder if it works.

Somebody try it out for me!
