Re: New Credit Card??

Yes, thats exactly what I want to do.. maybe use the card for just groceries.. Problem is, I have no CC.. Just my Visa Check Card..

I've called and spoke to the CC Co. that closed my account while deployed, and they didn't really know why it closed.. They believe it was because of an address change or something.. I was told to call an office and I did.. But never got a return on any of my calls... that was about 5 months ago.. Guess I need to get back on it again.. Smiley Indifferent

Re: New Credit Card??

Have you tried the pre-approval links on like Orchard or Cap 1?

It may be worth it to go with one of those if you are just trying to get a card and get something reporting soon. I would recommend orchard over cap 1, since they (cap 1) pull all 3 reports.

edited for confusion Smiley Tongue

Re: New Credit Card??

-----"Is Navy Visa the one they closed? I notice it had a flag....

If so and you have your auto loan with them, I would definitely try to get them to re-open." ------

No that was closed when I had a late payment (30 days), that they withdrew the money from my checking, it was  $129.. They then closed it.. I had the money just forgot to pay it and forgot about it.. ( I Was young and ignorant).. Its saying that account from 7/2004 - 6/2006 for Recent Payment History is "OK" and my Worst Deliquency is "30 days past due" .. DOLA is Aug 2003, and closed Aug 2003... But its still showing recent payment history til Jul 2006.. Lost Smiley Sad

I Also have lots a money invested into Navy Federal CU.. I have a Checking Account, Savings Account and a Money Market Savings Account with them.. I hope they can offer me something..?

You could always send a GW letter to them and see if they can remove it. It is affecting your scores too.  And it looks like they are updating. Guess it couldn't hurt since you have auto loan with them. Could be worth a shot.

Re: New Credit Card??

Citifinacial : DOLA was JUL 2006.. no idea where to find my DOFD; Closed on 2/05, and the 7yr history shows for 30/60/90 days late: 0 times, and "Worst Delinquency" says None Reported...
Call Cit and ask --- what is going on.

The SOL, don't see it... .. It was opened in Toledo, but have moved around due to the military.. I now live in Cleveland..

Dispute (wait for it to verify or come off) then send an OC letter - then a PFD

AmEx: DOLA 3/2003, closed 11/03.. I know I used this CC only once for around $200 back in 4/2002..
I would try getting into OASIS for this - nice history if you can.

Assoc/Citi Bank : DOLA - MAR 2007.. This is a weird one.. Don't remember opening this and I never used it.. its a CC for only $100... I remember getting a bill one day for an annual fee.. I called and cancelled it and told them I never opened the account.  Its saying I closed it Dec 2006 (I was in Iraq) and date of last activity was 3/07 (still in Iraq) ...
Call them - may be an error, may be id theft

Re: New Credit Card??

Amex offers a re-hab for their accounts, it's called OASIS.

From what I have read, they may re-open your account with a certain limit and you pay back the amount you defaulted on. Someone help me more with this.
