After ThanksGiving,
I received a letter from a temp service I had applied too during October, informing me of a "Data Breach," within their applications database, which instructed me to check my credit/ identification information to make sure everything was still "valid."
The first Bureau I checked was Experian (completely turned me down, saying I have no identifying factors in their system.)
The second one I checked was through TransUnion.
For the first week and a half or so, they said the same thing.
Until I got into their "Online System," and found out, not only did they have not any, but ALL of my personal information in their system. (Name, Date Of Birth, Social Security, Birthday and Address.)
With a file number and an,"On Our Files," listing since 2012.
I kept calling, and have been getting the runaround nonstop. First they tell me,"It's just your Personal Information On File With Us."
But I,"Have to have had some sort of Credit in order to get into "THEIR," system." (Which is it? Personal information is NOT CREDIT.)
Then they tell me the file is either,"Missing or empty."
I thought all credit reported had to stay on file for 7 years? (I do not use credit, never have, so for them to have my information listed as,"Reported," irks me beyond belief.)
I have been at it with them for over a month now, and I still have not received any bit of information as to WHAT I'M BEING REPORTED FOR. (The incident that had me "Entered into their system.")
The last time, however, I was just asking questions about their file types (again, completely new to this,) and suggested maybe I have a Split or Merged file to someone in disputes, who immediately snapped, saying, with a major attitude,"No, you don't have a SPLIT FILE WITH US, you have a Thin file, which means you've had enough credit to get reported but not enough to generate a score."
Now, every time I call, I ask the basic questions of,"Identification Information Constituting A Full Credit Report, and Victims of Identity Theft Wouldn't Be Able To Know Everything In Their File, Correct? As well as the, Credit just doesn't go missing from a report, does it? Bit....BEFORE I give them my info, and the answer it calm and respectful.
As soon as my information comes into play, they start stuttering and back tracking, and acting incredibly suspicious for some reason.
Just wondering if it's right for me to be suspicious at this point. (Also, Experian is completely blocking me out as well....Not enough "Identifying Factors.")
It's just TransUnion that has my info, and is acting like this.
