Just pulled my scores here and Trans is 779,EQ 705 and Ex 788
Question is I have a collection being reported on EQ but not on the other two,can the collection agency at any time also submit it to the other two? This collection is due to faulty workmanship with awnings I had installed and could never get the contractor to return to correct the problem.I explained all of this many times on the phone and they told me they would contact him and see if they could get it settled...to know avail and next thing I knew it showed up on my report.
Nice scores-
If the collection is valid- they can report accurate to all 3 CRA's.
Thanks Tim,
Some of this I'm sure was my fault...this started like 4 years ago...4 years of calls and 4 years of back and forth with th CA.I told them I would be more than happy to pay the balance if the contractor corrected the problem's problem was three awnings two of which were installed inside of shutters on windows and the other on the outside of the shutter.I gave the contractor the option of making the one smaller or the two larger.I should have taken his you know what to small claims court but it drifted so long and I was under the impression from the CA that they were going to work it out. They certainly understood my complaint.I guess it was the last call where I had had about enough and went off on the agent. If it was me I would have taken my you know what to small claims...he wouldn't do that because he knew he was wrong and yet now it hurts my scores...some system huh?Now I am concerned about doing anything as it has a Date opened of 11/04 but at the same time I feel at any time they will report to the other agencies?
Do you feel you should pay this debt? If so, maybe you can arrange for a Pay-For-Delete (PFD).
If you have no intentions of paying this debt, then I would be weary of doing anything for fear of it appearing on the other two credit reports as well...
Shnapple,
I absolutley don't feel I should pay for work that was done the way it was.Had I known it was headed down this road I would have filed a small claims action against the contractor. My problem was it had gone on for 4 years and the CA kept hearing me out and saying they would try and resolve the problem. On one call the CA said would you be willing to settle for less and I said the money was not the issue it was the work preformace and I would be more than happy to pay balance in full when work was corrected. You know Yada yada yada and next thing I knew it was reported to EQ.Thing is at this point my credit scores are important to me as I came off a BK from 11 years ago and have managed to get my scores as high as I have by doing the right thing. My real concern is of course it being on my record but also seeing it will come off in about 3 years I really do expect the CA to report it to the other agencies as well.Just curious as to why they only reported to EQ? any thoughts on that?It would rub me so much the wrong way to pay for something not completed properly.
the immediate action would have been small claims court, don't know the SOL and how it would apply now.
I have had to do this with carpet installer and electrician and won both times.
