Newbie!! Now Addicted

I have read MANY of these posts lately and have to admit I am now addicted! I am, not so patiently, waiting on 3 good TL's to report.... I subscribe to TC and noticed that EX has 2 of the TL's posted but nothing as of yet on EQ and TU. Does EX typically report first? Does anyone know?

I am trying to raise my score so I can purchase a house and am amazed at what a few good tl's did for EX and the FAKO scores. I am now sitting here waiting on myFICO to open so I can verify info and see my FICO scores. FAKO on EX went up 30 points.... Can't wait to see if the same happened on FICO.

I have some old medical debt and one recent collection account, but other than those I have a few good installment accounts. And, now a few revolving... So I think I am on my way.

But now I have two questions and would love some advice... First question is above - Does EX typically report before EQ and TU? and Second is will paying off a $53 medical collection account that had a last activity date of 4/2007 help or hurt? or is it hard to tell?

Any advice would be MUCHO APPRECIATED!!!!

Your on your way...I know exactly how you feel, I started working on my Scores about 3 months ago and it very quickly turns into a hobby/obsesion.   I had no idea how much fun & rewarding this could be.

One thing I kind of wonder about is what I'm going to do when I get them into the 800's.  It'll be kinda sadSmiley Very Happy

Good Luck - tons of good info & knowledgable people here...

Re: Newbie!! Now Addicted

I have another question... please forgive me!

I have two medical debts being reported as installment accounts only on EQ, both are listed as 120+ days late, but never went to collection. The date reported is 12/2005. One is for $17 and one for $130. What happens if I pay these?

Any impact on score?

Get these removed before they go to a CA.

Re: Newbie!! Now Addicted

There are a lot of helpful people on this forum and it doesn't matter how low or high your scores are here.....you are treated with the same respect and that is a good thing!

I sure wish my husband would take interest in helping me make decisions regarding OUR credit.  I applaud the spouses or significant others who work together on this!
