Newly Reported Collection states "Consumer disputed, meets FCRA requirements"

I had a collection with Enhanced Recovery Assoc, which I disputed because they refused to send any information as to what the account was for or who owned it, etc.

It was removed from all three bureaus with the online dispute. Within week, a collection with the same info showed up with a company called Diversified Consultants. I plan to dispute again, because I have no knowledge of this debt and have been unsuccessful at getting them to send me information so that I can verify. BUT, when the acocunt was listed on my report it states "Consumer disputes, meet FCRA requirements"......

How can this be when I have never disputed? If ER sold to DC at some point would that be the cause? If so don't they still have to verify or can I no longer dispute?

Re: Newly Reported Collection states "Consumer disputed, meets FCRA requirements"

It seems that you may be mixing up the FDCPA process for requesting debt validation with the disute process under the FCRA.

A debt collector is not required to send debt validation under the FDCPA.  They are required, if the DV request was timely, to cease active collection until such time as they choose to send validation.

You sent a DV request, and then disputed under the FCRA based on ther lack of response to your DV request?
