No history! How long to set up and any tips?

Hello,

I have been out of the US for 8 years and have no credit history.  I am just recently an authorised user of a good credit card with 5+ years history and 5% used of $10,000.  I am also applying for a secured bank of america credit card. 

How long would it take for a score to be generated?

What kind of score will I be looking at with a new history? 

What else can I do to boost the score?

Hello jbrierley, welcome to the forums. Please read credit scoring 101 if you haven't already done so.

Once that AU card updates on your report, you should generate a score. You will have a history now. Normally, it takes six months of history to generate a score, you have just bypassed that requirement.

Can't guess at a score.
