It is a good way of telling what possible new creditors are looking at you tho...
yea true, you're right, i didnt think of that..
I went to a dealership to obviously get a car. I got a loan and was told everything was in order with the bank. I started getting calls from the bank about my income and it was a big mess with the dealership, bank, and myself. During all the confusion on the loan, the dealership pulled my credit again. I understand was to probably see about another bank incase this bank backed out, but it was only a month later. So now 15 hard inquiries. Would the 2nd batch fall under the PP rules?
We also had an alarm company come by this weekend and was telling us they had to verify that we owned our home, did not give SSN, and found a hard unquiry on my report this morning. I already have this letter in the mail this morning. And I cancelled our install.
Same thing last April I bought a car I already had the pre approval from CapitalOne Auto Finance and mentioned this to the dealership but they said they *needed* to have the application filled out again because thats where they get their info for the DMV paperwork. After all this I see like a lot of other inquiries and I was financed through CapitalOne anyways! Is there anyway I can get these other inquiries taken off I thought it was a done deal just pick car and price and finance through Cap1 but I ended up getting a lot of letters in the mail from other banks or financial institutions that they cannot extend credit at this time and all this crap. I went in wanting to finance with Cap1 since they harassed me through mail before anyone else hahaha I had to reward the one that tried to eanr my business the most.
Anyways, could i send this letter to the other companies even though the dealership has a signed application from me? I thought it was to get my offer from CapitalOne I didn't authorize them to apply to a few other places.
