Yesterday I received a text message from Delta about my upcoming trip to Edmonton Canada. The problem is that I never made any reservation(s). I thought it was a junk /spam text at first. I called Delta customer service number which indicated my number linked to one or more reservation(s). I checked the Delta flight schedule and the flight time and destination matched to the text message. My concern is what credit card has been used to secure those reservations. I called Delta customer service the agent ran several searches and could not find the reservation that matched. Also the Delta agent verified that the text sounded like one of their text messages. The agent was only able to search only thosereservations that belonged to frequest fliers. The agent created a ticket to escalate my concerns. I checked all my credit cards for any pending charges or charges that were not mine. I found none. I froze Citi Bank. On my other credit cards a setup text alerts on any charges that exceeded a certain dollar amount. Plus a few others as well. I called the credit card companies that i used on my recent trip they did not see anything either. Is there anything else I can do?
Sounds like the real person gave the wrong phone number. Yours. And your getting the texts they're supposed to be getting. You have no fishy card activity. I get auto blocked spam texts on my phone. I just delete. Long as the card/s are ok. No harm no foul. Just a text.
Agreed with above poster. Just keep an eye on your cards for awhile. But if you don't see any charges, and Delta doesn't have a reservation for you, I wouldn't worry too much. I've gotten similar texts before and they turned out to be nothing.
I called the Delta customer service today the automated is telling there multiple accounts or ticket(s) associated to my phone number. I also want to see if Delta will respond to the ticket that was created. Nothing fishy so far on the card(s). Several years ago I had chase Bank customer that had my cell phone on their account. The account owner was trying to log in and I kept getting the one time pass code for that account. I will keep a watchful eye on the accounts. Hopefully it is just a phone number problem and not the start of an identity theft issue.
