I also got a notification from Wallet Hub that my USSA Amex Plus was reported as closed on 12/20, my statement date. The statement that was generated doesn't indicate any closure and still has my credit limit and available credit correct. My DD also got notification that her USAA Visa had been closed as of 12/18, her statement date. This definitely seems to be an internal USAA reporting error. I will call them next week after the holidays. I'm on a credit hassle holiday!

My statement also closed on the 18th. You're better than me -- no way was I waiting to bring this issue to their attention - holiday or no holiday. I'm also a bit annoyed because mine closed with a pretty decent sized balance reporting... looks awful. Enjoy your holiday!!
Anyone have their USAA CC report to the CRA as closed? At first thought it was Credit Karma as we know how they are strange sometimes but now I had Chase credit service and Experian credit service say that my accounts are closed. I called USAA and they said my accounts are fine.

Yes -- as I mentioned to you yesterday -- TU showed it as closed. Today, both EQ and EX updated the account as closed -- well actually, Experian alerted that the account was closed but it shows as open on my actual Experian report. Equifax shows it as closed on my Equifax report. So 2/3 bureaus are showing it closed. I opened a dispute via USAA's dispute portal. We are not the only ones. Seems USAA screwed up reporting mid-december statements.

@thornback wrote:Mine did the same. Account actually shows as Closed (by credit grantor) on both TU and EQ reports. Received the alert from Experian that says it was closed but my Experian report shows it open.
First alerted to it yesterday by TU and then today but EQ and EX. Confirmed with USAA that the account is open and in good standing. So I submitted a dispute via USAA asking them to correct it on TU and EQ.
There was something wrong with the way USAA reported their accounts. Another forum member mentioned the same happening yesterday but only on TU at that time.
My EX said I got an alert that the account is closed but it shows open on my report also, it shows my payment and new balance that is after the statement cut.

It's almost like EX somehow caught the error... tho it made it through their alert system, it didn't make it through the actual reporting system -- which doesn't even make sense lol. So strange.

Ok, @thornback, you got me a little nervous. I put my credit hassle holiday at risk and called USAA. My account is still open. The representative said they had identified a problem with their reporting where accounts were reported with the "account closed by credit grantor" remarks in error. She said they are working on correcting the error and updating the reporting. Now, back to my holiday.

They told me the same thing today when I called them on 23 Dec 2020.
Sounds like they're aware of the issue and working to correct it. I would hope once everything is rectified that they re-report all of the [incorrectly reported] accounts impacted so that all of you don't have to go an entire cycle with the account showing closed on your CRs.
