Now what????

I just got off the phone with the OC of a medical bill that went to an outside CA. I tried ot get the OC to have the CA delete all collection activity from my cr's for payment in full. The OC refused, however she did except my payment. I know talking to her on the phone was wrong, but I had already DV'd the CA, and I had tried to PFD them with a CMRRR with no response.

By her excepting the full payment (OC ) and not the CA, do I have a way to dispute this with the cb's and have this collection deleted? The OC did not seem to want to help stating that the account was a little over 3 years oldSmiley SadAny suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Now what????

giant, do NOT dispute this with the CRA's, as it is a valid and illegitimate entry.

About the only avenue open to you is to GW them. Sometimes goodwill letters work, some times they don't.

Good luck to you. Smiley Happy

Re: Now what????

Actually it depends on who is reporting to the agencies. Is the OC or the CA reporting on your credit? If it's the OC then you can only GW them but if it's the CA you can dispute because you no longer owe the money to the CA. Correct me if I'm wrong here.....anyone.

Re: Now what????

I would say that it's NOT a valid entry. Reason being, if you have paid the OC, then you don't actually owe a debt to the CA.

Unless I just read the whole message wrong?

Re: Now what????

To Happy- The DV came back right
To Annah and Slyviatob- The CA is reporting not the OC. I hope this is the way for me to dispute. The OC said that she would notify the CA that the debt has been paid but would not help me because the debt was close to 3 years oldSmiley Sad
