OC and multiple CA reporting same account

Once a OC has charged off/sold/transferred the account can they continue to report it when a CA is reporting it also?

If I pay an OC for an account that is only being reported by the CA, must the CA stop reporting it as I no longer owe and don't owe them anything, seeing as I bypassed them and went straight to the OC?

A few years ago I had a business and ended up with some tax leins over it. These leins are showing twice on one of my reports, they report once paid and once unpaid. On all my other reports they show paid and only show once.

Can a OC, or CA for that matter, insert an account on your credit after you paid it, if it wasn't reported before you paid it?

Also, on two reports it shows I was 30 days late about 4 years ago, but doesn't show late on my other report, and I don't remember ever being late on that account. Could I use my report not showing late as my evidence to get the lates removed from the other two?

Another account shows 2 30 day lates two months apart 3 years ago, but when I contact the bank reporting them about getting them removed, they said they don't have no records of that and can't help me.

The biggest reason for wanting the lates gone is they say they are scheduled to fall off soon, but otherwise the accounts are good accounts that date back quite aways and if I got the lates removed, I think with them being good accounts, they'll remain on, right?

And last, for know anyhow, I have a judgement that was paid but is showing unpaid. The courthouse says the creditor has never reported it paid and they sent him a letter which he failed to respond to. Said only thing I can do is take him to court, I have proof it was paid, is spending money to go back to court the only thing I can do?

Sorry for so many questions. I once had perfect credit and had a little business venture and the economy take its toll, now I am once again in a position to straighten the mess out and just want to make sure I am doing it right. Too bad I didn't find this place before I paid the 5 collections about two months ago, wish I would've done a PFD on them.

Yes  but must drop off CR  on drop date reported on CR

You have to know who OWNS the account.......in some cases Dr. and other medical suppliers never report they assign it to a CA.......in that case  it is up to the OC  BUT you must be careful how it is done.

The CR that is showing 2 times    dispute with ONLY that CRA  as dup.

I need a little more info on this.
A OC must report DOFD to the CRAs  before CO  or they can not report ( I think)
IF you paid an OC  and NOT  a CA    the CA may try to repot paid  but you need to fight them to get it removed...and it can be done.

Late payments only really hurt the first 2 years.......if the account are closed  even though they were good TL  a dispute or anything might just delete them.....once deleted they are gone forever!
I would leave them   good accounts (closed) remain 10 years.  The lates will still drop 7 years from late date.

I have 1 of these.......it isn't easy  BUT     dispute with all CRAs that are reporting as not accurate!
They will prob. answer you with a form letter stating how they investigate........when you receive that..................MOV  CMRRR      this is a lawsuit waiting!!!!!   IF they do not send you complete info   name of company, address and maybe phone #  within .....(they can not use the courthouse address)    Then you send an  ITS letter......they have 15 days to correct or delete.....if they do not  find an attorney that files in federal court!!!

I don't understand how this is not considered double reporting. So when OC reports, your score gets hit, then when CA reports it gets hit again. Twice for one account. Doesn't seem right. Not saying you are wrong, just saying it doesn't seem right to get penalized twice for one thing.

When I was having financial difficulties, I called and shut my satellite off for a few months. I told them when I shut it off it would take me a few months to pay the final bill. I paid it 6 months later to the satellite company and when I pulled my credit report last week, I noticed that a CA is reporting the account.  Was thinking of sending the CA reporting a DV.

If I am reading this right, just b/c a CA is trying to collect doesn't mean they own the account?

This question was referring to the one above it. Since I went and paid the OC, which I don't think they report anyhow, was wondering if they could go back and report that I was late on my payments AFTER I have paid them off?

I thought all accounts in good standing remain forever? Or is that only if they are still opened?

If they can not use the courthouse address, what address would they use? The person who took me to court to get the judgement? My credit report shows the county courthouse name/address.

Thank you for taking the time to answer all those questions. Was very nice and I appreciate it.
