Opt in with equifax freeze question

I finally got the nerve to get all the initial and extended fraud alerts removed from all three bureaus. Had to call TU over the phone. Ended up writing Equifax and Experian and sent documents. waited 2 weeks with no news so I called and got the alerts removed by phone.

I removed the security freeze from Experian and Transunion, but have not done so yet with Equifax. Here is my question.....

Will keeping the security freeze on Equifax prevent my from getting pre-approved offers? I confirmed verbally that I wanted to opt in at transunion and experian. Transunion has the least inquiries, but the tax liens (under dispute) are still listed as well as the FP CO (PIF)?

Any comments?

I get pre approvals in the mail and TU is on ice so yes its possible just depends on which bureau they are softing for the inquiry.

I didn't get any pre approvals when I had transunion locked . Some of the Pre approval tools would tell me they can't pull my info .

Re: Opt in with equifax freeze question

Right now I am focusing on Transunion due to least amount of inquiries. However the (disputed) unpaid tax lien still showing may pose a problem.

Equifax is currently frozen and experian is not. Both experian and equifax are cleared of the tax liens but high inquiries plague both reports; due to recent app spree.

You're really not missing out on anything by not getting preapprovals.  Keep in mind that they are just marketing and do not guarantee approval.
