Orchard Card

I have two orchard cards that started at $300 each almost ayear ago. I called and asked for a cli they gave me a modest $100  on both and charged a $25 fee. They never pulled a new credit report so I assume they are still going off the old credit info and my payment hx with them which is on time, never late, and more than min. Any suggestions?

First, make sure your utilization is rock bottom. Get your balances down into the single digits if you can. This will make clear that you know the system and can PIF and shred the CC if an account manager so much as looks at you cross-eyed. Carry this pathetic excuse for a balance until, say, September.

Do you have a near-prime card with a higher CL? If so, when September comes along, call in and tell them that, since you have another CC with a higher CL and a more favorable fee structure, you have no need for your Orchard cards anymore. See what sort of stuff their customer retention department is made of.

If not, just stick with what you have for now, and if you keep balances low and payments on time, by the end of the year your FICO might just go high enough you CAN get a near-prime card with a real credit limit.

Re: Orchard Card

I don't think Orchard pulls an Inq for CLIs; nor do they base CLIs on previous reports. Their CLI fee is simply legal extortion. Smiley Happy

Applied Card Bank is the worse.

Re: Orchard Card

You know what, Applied Card Bank even charged .50 inquiry per call to check the status on your account. I saw this the other day as I was reading my statement, (spooky!)

Re: Orchard Card

If any CC tried actually charging me for a CLI, I'd send their card back to them in small pieces.

I know that's right. I'm going to close all those type of cards that charge you a fee for increase. Are you nutts! lol

Re: Orchard Card

I mentioned this last week in another thread. I called to cancel my Orchard. The CS rep went through her script, I still said I wanted to cancel. She patched me to an "account manager" who bumped me 200 bucks on the spot. I kept it since I had already paid the AF anyway.

devhip:
how long did you have the card? Did you keep util low initially? I didn't and that is probably why they give me a hard time, now it is low.  I'll see what happens after six months!!

Oh....about a month Smiley Very Happy

But I had received other cards with far better terms around the same period of time, so I didn't feel the need to keep the Orchard card. It if had been reporting already as a positive TL it would have been different, but it was non-existent on my file. The only thing I did maybe differently than you is that I had used it a few times, charged up about $150, then did an online payment and paid off the balance within the same week.

Re: Orchard Card

I am thinking the same thing. I should have never activated the Orchard because i got approved for 3 more credit cards during the same week. If i close the Orchard, which has NOT yet appeared on my report, right now? Do you guys think its gonna appear on my report even though i closed it before it actually appeared? I know i am losing the $59 AF but i seriously do not need this card.
