I have a $500 overdraft at my credit union that reports as a revolving account. I opened it up a year ago and have never used it. Do I need to use it and have something report to the CRA's? Will this send my CU into a freak out that I am using it?
If I am reading this correctly, you have a $500 overdraft protection account that is reporting as a zero balance revolving account. I have similar (5k revolving OD protection) with my CU that also reports.
It doesn't say "overdraft protection" but it IS new "credit" so I'm waiting for its anniversary to see a little bump in score. Since it was opened at the same time as a new visa AND a car loan, all with the same CU, I figure next May I will get some points.
In the meantime, it's simply another revolving account that adds nice numbers to total utility.
