PFD Question

I am writing some PFD letters and have a couple questions-

How do you figure what amount, if other than full amount, to offer for PFD? I have a couple recent medical collections that I can pay in full($278, $123, and $478) but have some cc ones that are over 5 years old that are about $1500 and an old Sprint one for $179.

My personal formula:

AMount/7 X  years remaining on my report.... so 1500/7x2 = @429
