PFD not working

I am frustrated!  My PFD deletes are not working. I had one account removed Nordstrom 2 months ago and it did not boost my score. I have Victoria Secret account that shows 120+ late as of 8/07, but in description it says 'chargeoff'. Should I just pay the balance of 190.16 and try to get a GW adjustment later? I am so tired of looking at my credit file with balances that I can easily pay off. I am waiting for PFD from creditors and I've sent several letters over the last 4mths. Has anyone else been frustrated to the point of just paying the collection off just to see if your score increases.

Re: PFD not working

Don't pay without PFD... You have an even lesser chance of getting anything once you pay (loss of leverage).

Re: PFD not working

They will not budge, the PFD they say I don't qualify for. I've sent 3 PFD and the last letter I recieved from them is a settlement offer of 123.00. Only 70.00 difference, so last week I sent a PFD with the balance of 123.00 like they offered. Waiting for response back. How often does a company decide to accept a PFD after refusing ???

"qualify" what does that mean? LOL

Total BS. I would escalate all way up the chain until you get results.

PFD Questions

I have been reading other threads and see that several people have had success with the PFD letter I have two questions regarding this letter:

1-What type of response can you send to a CA that states that they cannot remove an account from your CR if you pay it off? Is there a law that can be thrown at them or a letter that can be written to dispute their claim?

2-If CA agrees to PFD will original creditor show up on CR or do I need to contact original creditor with PFD letter as well? (Don't have CR with me right now but I do believe OC is showing account as paid and collections agency is listed for amount owed to OC)

1. Cannot or will not? Anyone who places something on your reports can remove it. Some creditors just choose not to (usually because it is their company policy not to). Nonetheless, there is no law that says accurate info has to be deleted.

2. Check out the example PFD letter. The letter stipulates that the OC and CA TLs be deleted once payment has been made.
