PFD response

Hello everyone, I got a reply back from my very first PFD and wanted to run it by everyone just to make sure I am readingthis correct. This was from a collection from 2005 I think and was for the balance of 422.05. I offered 50% in my letter. The response was this....

RJM Aquisitions LLC is the owner of the above referenced account.
Based upon a review of this account, RJM is pleased to accept the sum of $211.03 in full satisfaction of the above referenced account.
This offer is valid through November 10, 2007.
Upon receipt and clearance of $211.03, this acount will be paid in full, and, as per your specific request, RJM will request our reporting of this account be deleted from your credit report.
Please enclose the bottom portion of this statement with your payment. We have enclosed a postage paid envelope for your convenience.

Is this saying what I think it says? I hope that it is saying that they will delete. I guess that I am just thinking that it is too good to be true. Any opinions???

Re: PFD response

I hate the way that CA's word things.  "RJM will request our reporting of this account be deleted from your CR."  Request?  I can request for Donald Trump to give me all of his money, but that does not mean anything.

I am just a little leary about the wording.  Personally, I would have them re-word the letter, but that is just me being paranoid about these CA's.

I am not sure what to say.  If you pay, then you lose all your leverage and they can just say "we requested it, but our reporting department decided against it."

Re: PFD response

Thats exactly what I was thinking, I have always been paranoid also. I have been trying to work up a letter to send back to them to re-phrase the "request" part. I didnt like that either. I just thought that it would be better to get everyone's thoughts on it. Kind of like a second opinion, I guess.

Re: PFD response

FYI, RJM had an account of mine and a few others here and the wording they sent you was exact to what they sent me...Guess what? they deleted...So, far they have made good of those somewhat rocky words.....

Re: PFD response

Thats great to hear Bren! I am first time PFDer. I am just all nervous and excited at the same time. It just seems to easy. I would have just liked it to say that they would delete it instead of request it deleted.
