PFD with Alliance One

Hi all, I recently joined the forum and have spent hours perusing the wealth of knowledge on this forum and still am doing so. I have a debt that was turned over to Alliance One Receivables Management, Inc. My question is this: Has anyone been successful in securing a pay-for-deletion agreement with this collection agency? Thanks in Advance.

Re: PFD with Alliance One

Befor doing anything with your CR....you need to know your SOL

Never talk to a CA   never send a PFD until AFTER  they answer a DV!
check state law...do CAs need to be licensed in your state  IF so  are they?

Re: PFD with Alliance One

Thanks HappyDays! I am a NJ resident and I believe the SOL here is 6yrs. It was turned over to a collection agency in 2007. So, correct me if I'm wrong, I am still 'obligated' to pay back the debt (after requesting a DV)?

Re: PFD with Alliance One

I tried but they wouldn't do it.....I then  tried to get them to update it with something positive. They said that since the account had been charged off there wasn't anything they could do but update it with a zero balance.  I was not a member of the forum then, so I thought paying it was my only option.  I disputed it after becoming a member and Equifax and Experian deleted it because I said that I had paid the original creditor.  The original creditor sent me account info stating a zero balance......that's how I got around it....TU didn't buy it...so it's still on my TU CR....

Re: PFD with Alliance One

camilleandbella, It is gathered from my reading that you disputed with Credit Reporting Agencies themselves? Did you settle/send payment to the original creditor or the CA (Alliance One)?

Re: PFD with Alliance One

SOL goes by DOFD or DOLA  that is set by the OC   the date that it was assigned or sold to a CA doesn't change it.

Yes if the CA  answers the DV  with the correct info.  They could file a lawsuit!!  After they answered  you could try a PFD.

Re: PFD with Alliance One

Simpl...I paid the original creditor but the CA was still hounding me for the money....The OC had already sold it but still accepted payment....I reports as a zero balance but the CA is listed on my credit report.

I'm going to dispute it.
