Re: Paid Collection

Lady_Scarlet,

I have an identical situation, except my medical bill "leftover" was for only $60 and I paid it in full immediately after I learned I had it. I, as well, was assured it will not appear on my credit report. It sure did... When I called the Creditor (Medical associates), I was sent to CA where they told me there is nothing they can do.
Should I try to write a GW letter? Who should I address it to: CA or Creditor?
I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

Turboba6,

I hope you have it removed! GL!

Re: Paid Collection

Same situation, however, it has been some time.
Keep that persons phone number and name handy!!! Call again, maybe next week. See what resolution they have come up with. Try vigrously to get a letter stating the facts of the situation. If you get the letter, immdeiately send copies to CRA's

Other than that you have a seven year wait for it to be removed or whatever the time period is.

But on another note, they can remove it if they are willing

Re: Paid Collection

Since it is paid, I would dipsute with CRAs then send the  following to the OC if it doesn't delete

Your Name Address

Legal Department OC Name Address

Re: Letter of (date of orginal letter) Account #(original account #)

Dear Sir or Madam;

Enclosed please find a copy of my letter(s) of dispute to (CRA (s)). Please note, I am providing you with an additional opportunity to have this account removed from (CA) and deleted from my credit reports if you have not already done so. I have no desire to cause you unnecessary difficulty, however, this entry of my private health care information,on my credit report, for an account that no longer has ANY permitted business purpose waiver since there is NO payment due, has caused injury to my credit reputation, and has left me no choice but to proceed with the following:

Upon my receipt of the FCRA and FACTA mandated reply from (CRA),if the account has NOT been deleted in its entirety,I will take appropriate action to enforce my rights under the HIPAA, FCRA and FACTA rules and (your State)'s Consumer Protection and Medical Privacy statutes.

Sincerely,

Re: Paid Collection

Lady Scarlet,

Thanks!  I Called the OC today, and gave them the Whole Story, she was GREAT.  She Called the CA and Insisted that they Remove it.   Then she called me back and said they Told Her 'Yes', however it would take 30 Days, and in the meantime I should Contest it through my CR's...

I 'Thought' they could remove it Imediatly, apparantly not....oh well...I Contested it...we'll see what happens...
