Hmm so in your case Wade, less than 50 off a perfect fico, your are close to 100 away from the penfed. So not a like for like, when considering the different ranges
Yeah i was not happy with the NextGen Score when i seen it i was looking for atlease in the 890 - 900 range. I am 90 points away from the top but up 710 points from the bottom.

I love that they value retail cards - so if I want in with them I need one... Most others just seem to disregard retail cards.
Guess what ? I am one of them that disreguard retail cards because i have none That really hurt my score in the NextGen model

Well i got in with none! But it will help someone's score with Penfed that does card retail cards

If I don't get in then I am putting my eggs here: https://www.rbfcu.org cc's with cashback 3,2,1 at 9.9 and auto loans (60 months) at 1.65 % used or new. And used has a different meaning there as I can get a classic from 1960 as they count used as anything from 1909!!!
How many new accounts and EQ inquires do you have in the last year???

2 accounts (Late August and Dec 2013), one inq from penfed (as member, but not approved for )/&;& when applied first time)
Sorry you didn't get the card . What was there reason???

At the time I had probably 3-4 new accounts, more inquiry (so a combo) and got the pyramid excuse. I only have a 2.5 year old US credit history. 13 accounts (inc 3 car loans, one was refinanced with different lender, the other with same) so have better score and history than many - but short and left me with a "few" inquiries the first 18 months
with your short credit history it will be hard to get in with Penfed but i could be wrong. What are your Fico scores ???
