Pending Transactions — Do They Report?

Anyone know if pending transactions are included in the reporting data to EQ/TU/EX?

No, they would be part of the next statement once they finish processing.

@TeenWolf  They generally don't but I have a couple times experienced my Disco including them on my credit report balance.

In fact I had a statement cut with a balance on it and then when I checked my credit report the current balance a couple of days later was included.  I now make sure I don't charge anything on my Disco until 3-4 days after statement cuts.

Re: Pending Transactions — Do They Report?

Yeah, Disco will lump pending transactions onto the statement, both charges and payments.
They also won't let you pay more than your current balance, so there is no adding the pending charges onto your payment.
Since they are not my AZEO card, I don't charge anything on it for about 5 days before a statement cut, so I can pay it to $0 before it reports.

BoA, PayPal MC and AmEx don't include pending charges on your statement, and will also accept payments of more than your "current balance."
Similar for Apple, with the exception being that you can't pay more than your "current balance," but at least the payment posts immediately, no matter what day/time you pay it.

Truist does Truist things, and it is a total crapshoot as to what and when pending things report.

No experience with other cards, since I sock drawered everything else before I started paying attention to such things.

It doesn't seem consistent, but I know Discover has done that to me twice. Reported blance was statement balance plus pending charges. They were on the report when they still showed pending on the website and were not included on that statement.

So if I need Disco to report a zero balance, I either don't use it for a few days before the statement or I push a payment from my bank account that's large enough to cover the current charges plus anything pending or anything I might charge between then and the time they report.

@mgood I pretty much do the same thing if I need an account to report Zero balance. I will push a payment large enough to cover everything pending and make sure it hits by statement closing date.
