Phone, Internet and Direct TV

Guys, please tell me there is a way around hard pulls.  I am so upset right now it isn't funny. Smiley Sad

If I do have to resort to this...are the hard pulls counted in the same way as credit cards?

It will not have an impact on your score. Credit checks made by businesses to offer you goods or services do not count toward your score. Hope that helps!

The only one I know about is AT&T - that is a hard pull, and I assume it counts against my score

Midnight, it is for land line, not wireless.  Smiley Happy

LisaJ, my DirecTV pull last month appears to have been a soft, but there's no way to know if yours would be the same.

If they pull a hard, it'll affect your score like any other hard inquiry.  If a soft, then ChopBrocoli is correct - no effect.

When I changed long-distance providers for my landline a year ago, that was a hard.

Re: Phone, Internet and Direct TV

I got DirectTV a year or so ago. I noticed they did a hard pull on my EQ account. I was not terribly happy about this. I disputed with EQ since DirectTV had not asked my permission.  EQ deleted the inquiry.
