Re: Piggybacking... not working?

Fair Isaac is changing the scoring model in September. I believe one of the CRAs is going to start using it in short order, and the others will begin next year. You won't get "grandfathered in" on this. If you're currently benefiting from AU status, you will lose it in either September or early next year. Expect your scores to drop, at least a little.

Re: Piggybacking... not working?

Ok I got added as an AU onto a Chase card but you might want to talk to the person you're piggybacking.  If it isn't being reported, most likely they dont' have your SS number.  Mine started out like that and I asked my holder to call them back to give them my SS.  They didn't take it but they sent me a letter requesting verification of my information.  You'll need to send in a copy of the SS card, driver's license, etc.  It was reported to the CRs shortly afterwards. Since it ends this year, I would say get hopping on getting the score up for that loan you may need.

Re: Piggybacking... not working?

UPDATE... Good news. I reached a rep from Chase today who was very accomodating. He took my info again (social, DOB) and said he would personally walk my information through the process so that this trade line would report on my bureau. I should see it reflected within about 10-15 days, perhaps sooner. Excellent news indeed. This adds a 10 year old account with an $18K limit/zero balance/zero lates to my bureau. I'm curious to see how this will affect my scores. Anybody wanna guess?

Re: Piggybacking... not working?

anybody has experience with Discover? I was added 2 month ago and still hasn't gotten the info reported. The holder told me she had made calls to Discover to add my SSN.

I just checked and Chase have had my DW ever since the card was opened.  It didn't have much impact because it was young at the time  Smiley Happy

And they were very accomodating about making her a co-signer later on
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: Piggybacking... not working?

Years ago I was added as an AU on ex's AMEX and it's still on my CR. I just added my 20 y.o. son to my AMEX as an AU to help him and I knew when they didn't ask me for his SS#, they were not going to report. Also the credit union said they only report joint additions to my VISA not AU.
It was a good thing while it lasted.

Re: Piggybacking... not working?

I am an AU on my husband's Chase card. In January they told me the same thing. However, it magically ended up on my credit reports 2 months later. I did not even give them my SS# or DL. Funny huh?

Re: Piggybacking... not working?

Sorry for asking again but anyone used Discover AU before? Will it report for me? It's been 2 months now. Thanks.

Did some checking. Some report it can take upwards of 3 months. Recommend you have the cardholder call and ask what's up.
