Please help

I posted earlier but never got a response.  I have a medical collection from Midland that is old.  I got verbal confirmation by the hospital that the dofd was in 10/99.  Got results from dispute back from all 3 CRAs and they all will remain on report.  Asked multiple times for my payment records from the hospital and they refuse to give them to me!  They say that they cannot legally give me records because a collection agency bought the account.  They are telling me that I must request the information from the CA.  I have sent a DV, but I'm not getting anywhere.  The account is over the 30 day period where I can contest the debt.  Now Midland is reaging the account and my score dropped 40 points over the weekend.  Can the hospital legally refuse to send me my records?  Also can they force me to call the CA to get them?

Re: Please help

Did you dispute on the basis that it is past reporting timelines? There is also a MOV letter you can send.

I think it would be time to file complaint with FTC and AG.

But I am learning as well, and I'm sure the fico experts will come along and point you which way to go.

Re: Please help

Yes.  I disputed as obsolete and felt pretty confident that it would be an open and shut case when I spoke with the OC and confirmed dates.  This has been a nightmare.   My credit was poor and just went into the terrible range.
