Please help!

So I applied for a Amex cash back card and they pulled experian. I was denied and the reasons listed was too many un paid accounts, high balance on revoloving acct, high loan and balance amounts. Literally none of those are true. I called American Express and he told me I had to contact experian. It’s impossible to talk to a real person. Am I missing something as to why they would report all those things that are not accurate and how to fix them? Thank you !!!

Re: Please help!

Experian has a wonderful smartphone app that comes complete with access to your report and free Experian FICO08, I would highly recommend taking a look at everything and disputing anything that’s incorrect.

Re: Please help!

In addition to Saeren's great advice; you might want to have a peek at all of your reports. Just in case..

You can get them for free 1x per year here: annualcreditreport.com

You will get a denial letter in the mail

The letter will provide you with the information on how to get a free copy of your EX report.

Also, Credit Karma gives weekly EQ and TU report

You may wish to check all three for inaccuracies

Re: Please help!

Definitely check all of your reports, but as Remedios said, refer to the denial letter when it comes. It is not uncommon to sometimes see a reason here or there given that doesn't line up. But for all of them to be wrong is interesting.

So, according to what you said OP, that would mean you have absolutely no unpaid accounts, no high balances compared to your limits on any of your credit cards, and no loans with high balances left yet to pay?

I ask because at times, even if you only have one each, per these categories, that one can still be enough in the eyes of the lender for you to be a risk when they look at your whole profile.

Re: Please help!

I recommend you go to Experian  and sign up for the free report. It will alert you for free anytime something happens, also if you already haven't done so - go to - americanexpress.com/applicationstatus and it will give you your letter immediately.
