Portfolio Recovery JDB

Portfolio seems to be buying all my OLD debts and now they are getting out of bounds.

A few weeks ago I received a collection letter from them for an out of SOL debt that had fallen off my CR. I DV'd them, no response yet. BUT-

They just bought another old debt this week, it just showed up on my CRs today. It's out of SOL but won't age of my CR for several months.

Portfolio has put this on all my reports as a collection AND THEY SAY I MADE A RECENT $ 5.00 PAYMENT.

I made no such payment.

I disputed online with TU & EX, will have to write to EQ. Doubt it will help tho.

Portfolio has me steamed, I'm out for blood with this CA

Sorry to hear this. When you contact them, make sure you do so in writing only and send certified return receipt requested.

Thanks for the info.

I have not contacted Portfolio yet, I'm going to let them hang themselves. I did send dispute letters to the CRAs today.

Don't rely on email return receipts to give you proof of anything!  The person on the other end can
decline to send a receipt just as quickly and easily as you requested one.  For these types of issues and "real proof", snail mail is the only way.

Re: Portfolio Recovery JDB

Update-

Portfolio Recovery

Received CMRRR green card, they signed it 8-23.

On 8-27 they updated the account on my CR, reporting exact same info. This is a violation, correct?

Also- since I disputed with the CRAs, how can they update before responding to my dispute?
