Hello,
New on here.
I'm trying to help someone with their credit report. I suspect some possible duplicate entries. I have been doing research for weeks on clearing up a credit report, but this has me still questioning what to do.
On their FICO report from this site via Equifax it shows 3 entries from Verizon.
The First:
Shows a zero balance
Open Account
And description says Account paid for less than full balance, paid collection
Status as of March 2011
Date opened June 2007
Last activity August 2010
Largest past balance: $86
NO Acct #
The Second:
Shows a zero balance
Says open account BUT in description states it was closed at consumer's request, paid collection
Status as of March 2011
Date opened Aug 2008
Last active February 2009
NO Acct #
The Third:
Shows a balance of $86
Says open account
Descriptions: Collection account, Telecommunications/cellular
Status as of January 2011
Date Opened June 2007
Last active July 2010
NO Acct #
THEN
When I look at individual credit reports it shows 3 Verizon Reports as well.
Two entries have the same account numbers, one is different.
It shows PAID in all three Trans Union and Experian. Equifax shows Derogatory, but zero balance in two. In the other it shows an $86 balance.
Question 1: Is it possible these are duplicates?
Question 2: If they are in fact duplicate, how do we go about this? Who gets contacted first, Verizon or the bureau?
Question 3: If this is what we think, than it was paid and Verizon said it would not be reflected. The account was also closed at his request.
I really would appreciate any help or suggestions in figuring this part out. I pretty much figured out how to handle everything else from doing research on my own. It is just these Verizon entries have me questions how to proceed.
Thank you!
Question 3: If this is what we think, than it was paid and Verizon said it would not be reflected. *Negatively*
