Progress

I found my old account on this forum, posts from way back in 2011

History 6/30/13: Chase Freedom - $6000 Amex Blue Cash - 18,000(9/14/13) Capital One Visa - $750 Shell Card - $300 (Closed) Chase Sapphire Preferred - $5000 (Accepted 6/29/13) Discover IT (Accepted 7/03/2013) Score: 719

From 2013 to 2020:

Credit score finally over 800 (805)

Current cards:

AMEX Gold

AMEX Blue Cash Everyday (12.2k)

AMEX EveryDay (30k)

AMEX Delta SkyMiles Platinum (7k)

AMEX Green Card

AMEX Hilton Honors Surpass Card (8k)

AMEX Hilton Honors Business Card (19.1k)

Citi Premier (8.5k)

Citi Double Cash (8.4k)

Citi Costco Anywhere (13k)

Discover IT (17k)

Chase Freedom (12k)

Chase Freedom (8.5k)

Chase Freedom (11k)

Total: $154,700 credit limit

Crazy how much of an impact a hard pull made and how obsessed I was with it back then; now it barely makes a ding.

Also I'm starting to think that these credit limit is directly correlated to your annual salary.

It has been steadily following my salary, even back 7 years ago.

Thanks everyone

Re: Progress

Congrats on your credit success! Yeah, with a thick file, HP has almost no effect on credit score. Smiley Very Happy

Nice progress. However, income IS important, but age of accounts and score make a big difference. I've seen one or two on the forum with 6 figure salaries and CLs $5K or less per card. And those with lower income and total CLs over 100K.

Yup, especially with mortgage coming up and the ratio. My credit limit has been pretty much close to 1:1 with salary though, from ~30k 7 years ago, to ~150k now. funny how that happens, and I hope that it's the income that matches the credit limit and that it keeps going haha
