Question about credit reporting

My mortgage is currently late. It was due on June 1, 2014. I understand that late payments are reported late after 30 days. I would like to make my payment on 7/2/2014. I spoke with my mortgage lender and they stated that they typically report to the bureaus between the 9th - 15th of the month. They did not think if I made my pymt by the 3rd-4th that it would be reported as late. My question is what do you all think? If I make my payment on 7-2 will I be reported as 30 days late? I do not want to damage my credit. Thanks.

Welcome to the forums!

I kind of doubt that anyone has an answer for you that would be reliable enough to go on.  I'm sure the answer varies with the lender.

If it was me, I'd try to tie this down for a certainty with the lender today, and if I couldn't, I'd make the payment today.

A 30-day late hits your score for around two years, and stays on your report for a lot longer.
