Discover will report every time card needs to be replaced other than expiration (lost, fraud etc). If card number changes, they will report.

They also report when AU is added/removed.

It's always been like that

Did not know so I looked it up in the credit bureau and that is exactly whay they did. Learn something here every day!

$354 didn't happen to be the previous month's balance did it? I was thinking maybe TU just hadn't updated yet.

I did once have Discover report my statement balance plus pending charges. I checked even after I got my 3B report and those charges still showed pending on the Discover site and my statement balance was still what I thought it was, but the statement balance was not what was reported to the bureaus. People here assured me that was a glitch, and it hasn't happened again. But it was the same across all three bureaus.

Not necessarily relevant to the OP, but I've had the same experience as you recently.  I had my June Discover cycle close on 6/25 and was at a zero balance for a few days until a transaction I made after 11pm EDT on closing was reported in my following 3B report.  My statement that cut 6/26 had a $0 balance and the transaction didn't post for a couple more days, but all 3 reportss had a $23 balance which screwed up my AZEO that month.
