Question?

I've applied and I'm going thru the final phase of the hiring process with Aetna as a call center rep.  Part of the process is signing for them to pull a "consumer report" ~ this report can keep you from being hired.  Is it the same as a credit report?  Will they see what creditors see?  If so I think I've wasted my time with them.  Which sucks...cause it's a really good job with good $ and benefits and I really need it.  They were really impressed with me at the interview regarding my background and experience and I'm hoping that will help in their decision.  My credit sucks...plain and simple and I've just now started cleaning it up.  Just wondering if anyone else had a potential employer pull a report on them?  I've worked in law enforcement the last 5 years and had to supply CR's to the agencies I've worked for and my credit was just as bad...only I was given an opportunity to explain.  I'm worried I won't get that chance with Aetna.  Smiley Sad

Re: Question?

Yes they see what creditors see. But..it depends on what you'll be doing in your job sometimes. Just because your CR is bad doens't mean you won't get hired. They might call you and ask you to explain why certain things are the way they are so you better have some good answers for them.  Good Luck

Re: Question?

I have just had one pulled the beginning of this year for
a contract job in a large Aerospace company and I had 5 state
and city tax liens on my report plus all the baddies and I
still got the job...
I now have another one pulled last week for another larger
Aerospace company that is doubling my salary and I start in 2 weeks
although the baddies are just about all gone but I would not fret too much
about it unless you need security clearance and or are handling lots of money
transfers I wouldn't worry too much...
If it becomes an issue you can show them all your paperwork too prove that
you are on top of it...

Re: Question?

Im with TM on this KIMS.  There are companies that tell you that they will pull CR and never do. There are some now days that pull it but not to check credit, they want to be sure that you are who you say that u are.
Now banks or a company  that handles cash might want to know.

Good luck, I hope you get the job!
