Hi, I am VERY new to actually caring about my credit. The last time before now that I checked my credit was about 5 years ago, and to say it was bad is an understatement. I started checking again a couple of months ago. Realized that there were a lot of things on my reports that were doubled, an ex spouses, not even me, and then all the stuff that was me. Any how, I got to working on my scores/ reports immediately. I am disputing all kinds of things and have seen my experian and transunion scores rise quite quickly. Equifax, not so much. Taking a very long time.
Then, I started looking on different credit checking sites. Now, I know that all 3 scores are going to vary. Not all things report on all the reports. But, i have found that I can pull my scores on 2 different sites for the same place and get 2 very different scores. Are some of these credit checking places scams? Pulling their scores out of nowhere? I am just very confused about it all. I did not have any big loans in my name, only a student loan, and a couple of low credit limit credit cards. All our big loans, ie..cars, house, that kind of stuff is in my husbands name only. (my scores were WAY too bad to even be on them). Somebody recommending trading in my car, and putting the new car in my name. I did that, but it has yet to start reporting. Are there other things I can do to start improving my scores? Is it better to have a zero balance on credit cards, or at 20 %? Any help I can get would be awesome! Oh yeah, and why did my credit get pulled like 12 times on equifax for my auto loan, and only once or twice on the other 2?
