Re: Quick question, if experian... and fico is, then why do...

So fico scores, the scores provided by this website, are the "golden" scores??

If I pay this site, will I get to view all of my fico scores, whether it is an experian fico score or not?

Why would I get my score from anyone other than this website, MyFico?

I guess that is the question.

If lenders only care about your fico, wouldn't this be the place to get your "fico" score from... if your were going to pay?

I guess I am just a little confused with this whole process. Yeah, I get credit cards when I apply, but what is the big deal with TR EQ EX?

If they are using vangtage 3, which is free... and a spin off of a mix of fico scores combined into to one, or something crazy like that... which supposedly does not matter because it is not a fico (it is a fako - according to some on the internet), and experian has their rating, but their rating is a fico of some sort... why would I not just buy my scores and reports from here... I added reports because it is a bundle, even though I do not care to view them, if I have them, I will.

If what you want is a complete picture of your FICO scores, across all bureaus, and all scoring models, the only place I know of to get that is here.

The Vantage scores are worthless.

The advantage of the Experian site is that you can get your updates in real time. But it gives you only 1 bureau, and gives you only 7 scores pulled from that bureau. The 7 scores are the genuine FICO scores.

@BrutalBodyShots

I'm not too worried about my credit report because it's so thin that there is nothing negative on it besides one set of lates on multiple student loans.

I can't do much about that, besides get about 6-8 credit cards and keep paying on time.

Hopefully it will eventually "wash out"

I appreciate everyone's input, information and suggestions.

I think I am going to get a subscription here and at experian... and obviously keep my credit karma and other free tools going.

Thanks again for everyone's help, all across this forum.

All of you are the only reason why my credit portfolio is on the path that it is on right now.

Thank you!

Also, just a random data point for anyone reading this...

The all cards at zero penalty is REAL!

Happy journeys everyone!

Paid subscriptions (especially multiple) aren't the answer for many, so you may want to rethink that.  By your own admission your file is thin, so there's really not much to monitor in the way of your reports/scores currently.  Free tools may be more than sufficient currently considering your profile.  Also, unless you've got an important app upcoming (house, car, etc) paying for all of your scores could be somewhat of a waste of money.  The decision is ultimately yours of course and only you can say if paid subscriptions are "worth" it to you.

Some people like spending their money on fancy restaurants, bars, night clubs, loose women, and fast cars.

Some people like myself like spending it on credit monitoring services like MyFICO and experian.com Smiley Happy

@BrutalBodyShots

I was just going to sign up here for the one month and see the true results and then at experian for their $1 deal.

Like you said, as of now the freebie sites have been holding my fix, but my addiction to wanting to learn more and find out more about the information they have on me, that they are with holding from, is killing me... it's not that intense, but yeah. I'm sure you get the point Smiley Very Happy

Also, I'm not sure about other EX products but the one I have (premium) provides what SJ states above and also all 3 bureau's FICO 8 scores once a month.

The addiction is real and I get it.  I currently have both MyFICO quarterly and EX subscriptions.  I want to see how age factors affect all of my scores.  After I get past the late remaining on EQ and EX I will probably drop MyFICO (do a one time pull when needed in the future) and just keep EX to satisfy my fix Smiley Wink

That's correct, but you have a very thick file with a lot going on, so it makes more "sense" to spend money on CMS relative to the OP, IMO.  Either way the decision is always up to the individual, of course.

Keep in mind you can repeat the $1 free trial at Experian.   I usually do it monthly for an update.

It's also worth mentioning that with a monthly $1 trial (that can be repeated as indicated above) one can get more than with a "real" monthly membership for $30/mo or whatever it costs.
