Quick question

My OC was Providian and now it shows as Chase on CR.  Should I have that corrected so it still reflects Providian?  I think there was a merge or a takeover for that business but I am unsure.  Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Sorry for the ridiculous question but I am a newbie and trying to repair credit damge.

Providian was bought out by WaMu who was bought out by Chase. That is why it is currently reflected as a Chase account - because they own it. You cannot have it changed back to Providian because it's not there debt anymore, but it has no effect on anything in the first place.

The only change now is that if you are going to try to get it removed, you have to work with Chase instead of Providian.

Thank you so much for the quick response!  I thought there was some type of merge or buyout but I wasn't sure.  I didn't want to waste my time or the CRA with something ridiculous because I was uninformed.
