Quizzle, Creditkarma and credit.com thoughts

I have not been on here awhile but still keeping an eye on my credit score through such companies like Quizzle, Creditkarma and credit.com. Currently my score on Creditkarma is 693 and on Quizzle it is 717. Credit.com does not give a score but gives me an "A". I decided to try the free trial of score watch here on Fico and was pleasantly surprised my score was 721. Last time I checked on Fico it was 656 which was a year ago. I am wondering with the other scores being FAKO they seem pretty close to what I pulled here on here on my fico. I know Quizzle just noted last week that they changed there scoring and I dont know if this made a difference or not. I know Creditkarma is showing more inquiries than I have (they show 3) and I have none. So is there any thoughts on these sites and the accuracy?Smiley Happy

Their data is accurate because the information is pulled directly from one of the CRA's.  It's only theircredit scores that's not the same as a FICO score.

Have you seen who these inquiries are from? Does CreditKarma show you that?

You need to make sure someone else is not trying to get credit in your name. If CreditKarma doesn't show them, pull a report directly from the credit bureau to verify what they are.

Credit Karma doesn't show the details of inquiries.  It only shows the amount of inquiries one has on their TU report.

Re: Quizzle, Creditkarma and credit.com thoughts

To add, aside from the scores being different (my CK score is 60 points lower than my TU FICO), the factors and means of calculation differ too. For example:

CK factors AAoA for open accounts only. TU FICO factors AAoA on all OC accounts, open or closed.

The inquiries are calculated into the score for the full 2 years with CK. The TU FICO only cares about the first year.

With CK's score (TransRisk), collections are factored into your length of history. I remember a 7 y.o. CA dropped when I subscribed to TC and my score dropped a little (had other collections reporting then).

Also, my util on CK is super high. I think it factors my Amex Green w/ a $0 CL and uses the balance in the calculations, whereas TU08 version of FICO calculates the balance in relation to the high balance.

Re: Quizzle, Creditkarma and credit.com thoughts

isnt creditkarma a fako transunion, and quizzle is a fako experian?

what is credit.com a fako of?

I have the fico scores on here but i like to see how close the fako are so I dont have to pay for updates as often. lol  thats why i do like the experian website since you can update everyday without paying extra than the monthly fee ( i know you cant go by exact score but helps to see when your disputing and PFD if there deleting)

You can get so called "scores" from all three CRA's there but of course none of them are FICO scores.

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802, EQ - 10/10-813, TU - 10/10-774

"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem".

Re: Quizzle, Creditkarma and credit.com thoughts

And to add, there are dozens of FAKOs for each CRA when looking at all the different services out there. You've got PLUS, CE Score, VantageScore, Equifax Credit Score, CreditXpert Credit Score, TransRisk, CC-enhanced TransRisk, ScoreX, Smart Score, and so many more. Just know if it doesn't have "FICO" anywhere in their service, it is a FAKO.

Right. CreditKarma pulls TU only and the score used by them is a FAKO called TransRisk. TransRisk is also used in many services like FreeScoreOnline, Privacy Matters 123, NatCity's ID Protect (if still around), and others. Quizzle pulls EX only. The FAKO score used by Quizzle is called a CE Score and I believe it was developed specifically for Quizzle.

Several of us here use a CMS to pull our reports and see when accounts are updated.  But we're very careful to ignore their scores.  Once in awhile, some scores will be close - which makes us wonder if there's a pattern - or similarities in up and down behavior between FICO scores and FAKO scores.  I've been there as well, and hopeful that other FAKO's mirror FICO's in SOME way.  But they don't.

I posted the following post earlier about CCT FAKO scores - the same is true across the board for other FAKO scores, including Quizzle, Creditkarma and credit.com

I get fako PLUS scores from CCT and was pulling them when we did our mortgage app. That allowed us to compare all three PLUS and FICO scores for both DH and I - so six scores altogether. I also subscribe to ScoreWatch and get FICO EQ score updates that I compare with my ongoing CCT fako PLUS scores.

When we compared scores, they were all over the place. DH's PLUS EXP score was his highest, his FICO EXP score was his lowest. Mine was converse; my PLUS EXP score was my lowest and my FICO EXP score was high.

DH's PLUS score range between the three CRA's is less than 10 points. His FICO scores cover an almost 90 point range.

When companring FICO to PLUS, some of our scores were relatively close, some were 100 points off.

When my FICO went up, my PLUS did't. When my PLUS went up, my FICO went down. No pattern. No nothin'.

"The truth is, only Fair Isaac knows how FICO scores are calculated, and their formula is kept very secret. Other credit scores can sometimes come close to the mark, but they can be off by as much as 100 points either way. This is important because lenders don't use FAKO scores; they almost always use FICO. So it does you no good to know a score that a) isn't correct, b) won't be considered by lenders."

Experian is fairly straight forward in saying, "The Experian-developed PLUS Score model is a consumer-focused credit score." That means it is a product designed to sell to consumers. It is, in short, a cash cow. Because it is not designed to mirror FICO - but is designed as a consumer tool, it has differing criteria. That is also why the advice given along with PLUS and other FAKO scores is faulty when applied to FICO scoring. Following FAKO advice can, and does, lower FICO scores.

Hope that's helpful!
