@Anonymous wrote:what happens if you know the DOLA listed is incorrect, but cannot find any past paperwork or documets to prove this? would i basically have to accept that they added 3 to 4 years to my account if the CRA gives me a FCRA compliance date of 2005? i had an account that i have not paid a penny towards since late 2001 early 2002 (cannot remember exact time) and it shows on my report as DOLA 2005!
and since the account is so old would it be a bad idea to dispute the dates or would that be like waking a sleeping giant? sorry, i'm still trying to grasp all this credit stuff. there is just so much.

good evening,
I see that you made a statement: Make sure DOFD and the drop off date hasn't change, well i have gotten my credit report today and i have two showing a different date from my DOFD. This is what i have, AFNI, drop off date is 1/2013, but my new report showing 8/09 prior delinq and i have another account doing the same thing but different dates..What should i do about this? pls help...
Would you mind clarifying? So your EX or TU reports (these are the only two that have drop off dates) conflict with each other per the drop off date for the exact same account, namely AFNI?

It's my EX, one is AFNI (verzion) and the other one has the DOFD as the prior delinq. Sorry read the second one wrong. But i dont understand, how can the prior delinq show one as a new date, and on the other hand, it can show as the DOFD.

ladydi...I'm sorry, but I'm still confused. When you say the "other one" are you talking about another account? Another report?
Can you please spell out what your report says?

Ignore all of the dates on here. You can't use any of these dates to tell if it is been re-aged. "Prior Delinquency" means nothing. If this is EQ, you need to pull your EQ report directly from Equifax.com or directly from annualcreditreport.com to get DOFD. To see if it has been re-aged, you need to compare an older EQ report from that website and compare it to your lates copy. If that DOFD date changed, then it could have been re-aged.
For TU and EX, you wouldn't look for DOFD. You need to look for the drop off date (also found directly from those websites or from annualcreditcreport.com). If the drop off dates changed, then it could have been re-aged. All other dates like DOLA, open dates, etc. have no bearing on when a CA falls off.
BTW, in the example above, DOFD always preceeds the open date listed on a CA. The open date is the day the CA acquired the debt which is always after DOFD.

I have an old credit report from EQ. The DOFD on this account is 2/06. The date showing above is when i paid off the account (7/09). I read something about prior delinq and it stated: the date of delinq. If this the case, then that means it will be on my report for another 7 yrs? This is very scary..
Ladydi,
it is more like until 2013!. Try GW
