I have been recieving bogus alerts from MyFICO all having to do with the EquiFax bureau. Things like a J.C. Pennys card balance changed (I don't have a J.C Penny CC), a collection agency made a modification (i dont have any collection agencies on my report), etc. Equifax confirmed i dont have them. I cant dispute them because according to the bureau they dont exist so there is nothing to dispute, A call to MyFICO always says they receive info directly from the bureaus and cant change anything - BUT this sounds like a MyFICO error. Customer service has been less than helpful and I have not gotten a resolution. Has anyone else gotten false alerts?
Nothing to the degree that you describe but I will get an alert regarding my Citibank card claiming that I am within $25.00 of my limit. The card is sock drawered and has been for two years. Naturally, the first time it happened I was in a panic but a quick review of my account showed no activity and a follow up call to Citibank confirmed no activity so I just let it go. When it happened again I just checked online and didn't take it any further. Happened maybe two or three times over a 30 day period. That was 2-3 months ago. Have had no issues since.
WOW! This seems worrisome! I'm not feeling comfy reading these 2 posts. What would trigger that information? I would be in a panic too if I got alerts for accounts I did not have or balance information that was very inaccurate. I have never gotten a false alert from any credit monitoring service. I have had those type of services for at least 20 years. I thought My Fico was supposed to be the 'best' ??? This concerns me! Hopefully isolated issue.
Hopefully they will get this cleared up soon. It seems to be just Equifax that shows these false alerts for myself. Sounds like a techical issue with the feed where other people's aterts are being misdirected at me.
That seems really strange. Hope it is just technical problems and not an indication of something else like for example identity theft.
I don't think it is identity theft because the credit report from Equifax seems fine and they have directly confirmed its fine. It's just myFICO sending me these strange alerts. I don't have a lot of trust with myFICO at the moment

It's almost assuredly on EQ's end.
Your data is being conflated with someone else's, MF gets all data from the bureau to my knowledge for the monitoring solution. I'd be worried split fileish or similar as that isn't quite the right description.
Not sure how it would get resolved, may need to actually get what MF is seeing and that's going to be multiple phone calls presumably to figure out who to even ask at EQ as both will just blame the other not to your benefit. 3rd parties =/.
Mine just showed that I have placed a fraud alert with Experian which hasn't been done.
