Refi is a No Go!!

Talked to mortgage company and supposedly the lender that they were going to use no longer uses the program that they were trying to get me into as of yesterday.  Of course, broker I was working with was not in the office on yesterday.

It's okay though, I am not upset or mad, will just keep doing what I gotta do.

Sorry to hear about that.  It seems like tougher times are ahead in the mortgage industry.

Re: Refi is a No Go!!

I guess we should just wait and continue working on our scores and paying on time so that we can get to at least a 620 and maybe have more options.  I don't know.

Eve-
You are SO RIGHT. I think there is a reason this didn't happen. When you were asking us about the terms they were offering you, I got an uncomfortable feeling. I think it's awesome what you have been able to do so far, and I know it's going to get better. Sometime's life's lessons are so hard, that I wonder what the point of it all is. Then I  remember that money is green ink on paper and that I have a fab hubby, two great kids and good health. Really, what more can I ask for? (Besides a new Mercedes.)

Don't rely on just that one broker...Go talk to a couple of banks, credit unions in particular as they are more forgiving on credit issues.

Keep at it - sometimes you gotta go through a few "no's" before you get to a "yes"....

Re: Refi is a No Go!!

You know, I am so greatful to God for everything that he has blessed me with, especially my family.  All last year we suffered financially trying to survive and I mean literally survive with just the basics that we needed.  We had no Christmas and my new granddaughter was here and we had nothing, no tree, no gifts, no money but we had love and each other.  It was the grace of God that we made the mtg payments last year and didn't get put out or go into foreclosure.  Believe me, I was ready to walk away and leave the house empty. Somehow, we have made it this far, thank God, and we can only continue to persevere and push forward and not look back, if only for a learning experience.

I wasn't comfortable with a $3k mortgage payment even though my other debt would be paid off.  There has to be something better than this because I only saw a $200 difference in savings by doing this loan.  It scared us, believe me, dh didn't want to do it.  Hopefully with all the deletes his mid fico is around 620 now.
