Removed or not?

According to my dashboard, "A collection was removed from my credit report" on two of the bureaus so far.  Great!  It was something I had disputed.  When I went to the transunion website today though to dispute something else, I saw that account still listed there?  I'm guessing myfico wouldn't just say something was removed for no reason, but yet there it is on transunion's website.  Which one do I believe?

I'm hoping myfico is right because it boosted my score 47 points. Smiley Happy

Re: Removed or not?

Collections can become removed after a dispute in one of two separate ways.

Either the debt collector reported deletion of their collection to the CRA, or else the CRA deleted the collection based on their finding in reinvestigation of the dispute.

The official document required to be sent to the consumer disclosing the finding in their dispute is the Notice of Results of Reinvestigation.

If the CRA deleted, then they would have to so state in their Notice of Results of Reinvestiation, which must be sent to the consumer no later than 5 business days after expiration of the 30-day dispute process.

Did you ever receive a forman Notice of REsults of Reinvestiation from the CRA that stated the collection was deleted by them as a finding in their resolution of the dispute?

Thanks for your reply. I haven’t received anything yet, but I think today is actually exactly 30 days. I’ll keep my eyes peeled. Smiley Happy
