When we split, I called the credit card company to remove him as an authorized user, but my ex claims the card still reflects on his credit report. He is concerned that the high balance that I currently have is negatively reflecting on his credit. When I added him a few years ago, he didn't have to sign anything, and I was told I could always take him off at a later date. Is that not true? Will this card always show on his report as well? Does the balance and payment affect his score and DTI?The history at the time he was removed willshow on the report but since he has been removed it will not update. The easiest thing for him to do would be to dispute the account. It is only an AU account so it should be easy to get rid of. Had you removed him after paying the balances down he would have nothing to complain about. The balance may reflect in his utilization or if he is going for a mortgage loan some will use it in his DTI thought they shouldn't since he has no responsibility for paying on an AU account.
