Hi there,
I am new at all this but this has been my experience so far...
I have had several inaccuarate reports removed after they credit bureaus had told me they were correct..and they had infact told me they were correct several times!
eg.
We had a released state tax lien..on twice (a duplicate)..everyone kept saying verified, verified etc.etc..It took me forever to get that one removed...
I know on this board they suggest not doing the on line disputes and i agree with that ...sometimes I honestly wonder what they check!
I just disputed a repo on my husbands credit report..(that shouldnt have been there a returned lease confusion)..credit report confirmed it had been verified several times to me ..that everything was accurate on the report ,account closed...
I call Wells fargo very mad..as this had been on some time and they had told me it was a mistake they corrected already (years ago)they had told the CRAS to remove it and replace with paid on time no derogatories before and would do so again..
So far its still there ...but I send the CRAS a letter from Wells fargo as well so one of them has to work! I HOPE!
Last one was we had a judgement paid but I could not get it to report as paid..it was due of this year but I had tried for years and all I got back was the usual verified garbage..EVEN after sending a letter from the OC from years ago saying it was indeed paid..disputing about 6 times ,they still kept saying verified (and not paid!) and that they had verified it ..OBVIOUSLY THEY HAD NOT OR IT WOULD HAVE BEEN REPORTED CORRECTLY!!..
I got an email from this site for Equifax and sent everything in an email to them telling them my dilema and how I had just about given up...a nice lady responded saying it was removed COMPLETELY in only a few days!!..
If you have a report that is incorrect..there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't present your new information to them and tell them to recheck.. also you may want to contact the original creditor and have them do it as well!
good luck
