Reply from RJM Acquisitions

I GW'd the and gor an response today but the reply looked a bit funny to me

It reads:

RJM Acquisitions LLC is the owner of the above referenced account

Based upon a review of this account, RJM is pleased to accept the sum of $44.00 in full
satisfaction of the abve referenced account.

This offer is valid through Sept 9,2007
Upon receipt and clearance of $4400 this account will be paid in full, and, as per your specific request, and to the extent possible, RJM WILL

Request our reporting of this account be deleted from your credit report.

There's a bottom attachment that reads:

RE: my name
Proposed Settlement Balance  $44.00

Yes    Enclosed is my payment of $44.00 My account is now satisfied in full..

a checkbox that says Please delete RJM'S reporting of this account from my credit report..

Now the thing that bothers me is to the extent possible they will request this account to be deleted...sounds tricky to me...

Whats do you guys think?

Re: Reply from RJM Acquisitions

Hi Bren, Funny thing, I am looking at my letter from RJM, stating that they the balance was paid in full and that they have sent updates to all reporting agencies showing the tradeline deleted.  It has been less than a week and they really followed through.  They even went to far as to fax a copy of this letter to my bank as I am in the middle of a refi.  As of today, the collection does not show on any of my reports and it was there last week.  RJM is no a collection agency but rather an acquisition firm.  I might help to know that I dealt with them only by phone.  Everyone I talked to was really nice.

Re: Reply from RJM Acquisitions

...one more thing, I had to specifically ask for a letter to be sent as well as a fax.  I also gave them the name of my Mortgage Broker to put on file so that he could call and get phone verification.  My tab was $277.  I got the name of the agent I talked to and her extension and communicated with her primarily.  I might have been foolish to trust them but it worked for me and very quickly I might add.  I guess not everyone is out to get us.  A little bit if Idaho naivete.

Re: Reply from RJM Acquisitions

I had an Over Draft at a local bank and it was sent to them and they deleted mine. I think they delete anyway is what they told me.
